/Industrial Revolution
This unit expands on the concept of revolutions to address the European Industrial Revolution of the late 1700s and early 1800s. Students will read and discuss to understand the development of the industrial revolution throughout Europe. Students will participate in a debate to analyze the positive and negative outcomes of the Industrial Revolution and write position statements. Finally, students will complete a test to review essential information and demonstrate enduring understandings.

How did the European Industrial Revolution affect society?
The European Industrial Revolution affected the society in many ways. Industrial Revolution started in Britain and as time passed, Britain started to become more advanced compared to the rest of the countries. Because of this benefit, Britain would buy cheap, natural resources from other countries to create new products. Afterwards, Britain’s profit came from selling the new products to other countries for a higher price. Since Britain has all the secrets to the Industrial Revolution, the government enforced people, such as engineers and entrepreneurs, in the country to not leave.
