Models: Carriker sisters

Combining 2 Photos: To create a desired background for the chosen image.

  1. File -> "Open..." (Open 2 photos) -> Click and drag top photo to the background photo

  2. (Ctrl+T) Change top photo to desire size -> (hold down Shift) -> Press "Enter"

  3. Quick Select -> "Refine Edge..." -> "On Layer" -> "Smart Radius" 

  4. Refine Radius Tool -> Color in the parts that are from old background -> Shift Edge (change to your desire) -> Output To: New Layer -> Select "Ok"

 

Creating Shadow Layer: Putting more texture and making the main picture glow.

  1. Select Layer -> Rename -> (Ctrl+J) -> Rename -> put copied layer below the original layer

  2. Drag out copy layer -> Image -> Adjustments -> "Levels..." -> drag all the way to the right -> click "Ok"

  3. Filter -> Blur -> "Guassian Blur..." -> (change to your desire) -> click "Ok"

  4. Change opacity -> move shadow to desired place -> (Ctrl+T) change size of shadow

  5. Save work as JPEG & Photoshop

 

If Needed:

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

  3. Subtract selection (Alt+Click)

On Clouds

3D Pop-Out: Person popping out of photo giving it a 3D effect.

  1. File -> "Open..."

  2. Select Image for the Background

  3. (Ctrl+J) 2 times for 2 copies of Background 

  4. Click on New Layer icon -> Drag it below top layer

  5. Click on Background layer -> (Alt+Del) making it black

  6. Click "Layer 2" -> Rename

  7. Click off eyeball on top layer to hide

  8. Rectangular Marquee Tool -> Click drag from bottom left of image to the top that ends below the subject you want to popout 

  9. Edit -> "Stroke..." -> Width: 12 px Color: White Location: Inside -> click "Ok"

  10. (Ctrl+D) 

  11. Edit -> Transform -> Perspective

  12. Top corner- drag in

  13. Bottom corner- drag out

  14. Press "Enter"

  15. (Ctrl+T) -> Top middle- drag down -> Press "Enter"

  16. Go to layer (from step 6) -> (Ctrl+Click) -> (Ctrl+Shift+I) -> (Q)

  17. Paint Bucket Tool -> click outside the quick mask -> (Q)

  18. Click "Layer 1" -> Click "New Layer Mask"

  19. Click eyeball back on from top layer -> Click layer

  20. Quick Selection Tool -> Drag curser on object you want to select 

  21. Select -> "Refine Edge..." -> Click "Smart Radius" -> Click "Rfine Radius Tool" -> increase radius -> Click "Ok"

  22. Click "Layer Mask" icon

  23. Click "Background" -> Gradient Tool -> Liner Radient -> Top edge of image (hold down Shift) -> Drag down

  24. Save work as JPEG & Photoshop

 

If Needed:

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

  3. Subtract selection (Alt+Click)

Color Splash Effect: Other parts of the image is in black and white. Only a certain part of the image is in color.

  1. File-> Open...

  2. Select Image for the Background

  3. Layer pannel -> double click on Background

  4. Click "Ok" : unlock layer

  5. Right click on layer -> "Duplicate Layer..."

  6. Rename -> "Ok"

  7. Image -> Adjustment -> "Black & White..." -> "Ok"

  8. Click Eraser to Paint

over image that you want to be colored

 

If Needed:

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

REPRESENT!

The original photo of Babe was distracted by the background colors, so I chose to do Color Splash. Since this picture was taken before his basketball game, I thought it would be good to make the focus on him and the basketball uniform.

Typography: Writting words over an image.

  1. File-> "New..." -> Change Name -> Bacground Contents: White -> Width& Height: 500

  2. Select Image for the Background

  3. File -> "Place..." (Place image of your desire)

  4. Rearrange image as you want -> press "Enter"

  5. Click Text -> click and drag across background

  6. Type text ->Opacity: 40%

  7. Eraser Tool (erase text outside of photo)

  8. Save work as JPEG & Photoshop

 

Extra: make the words fit 

  1. Filter -> Distort -> "ZigZag..."

 

If Needed:

  1. Change Eraser Tool size

  2. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  3. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

A little conceeded song lyrics for a little conceeded person.

Speech Bubble:

  1. Type Speech & Pick font 

  2. Create new layer -> name 

  3. Elliptical Marquee Tool -> draw ovals (hold down Shift) 

  4. Polygonal Lasso Tool -> make arrow (hold down Shift)

  5. Right Click -> Stroke -> 15px Color: (change to your desire)

  6. Paint Bucket Tool -> (change color to your desire)

Cartoon Effect: Creating a regular image into a cartoon character.

  1. File-> Open...

  2. Select Image for the Background

  3. Pen Tool -> Trace around image -> (Ctrl+Enter)

  4. File -> "New..." -> Width: 1280 px Height: 720 px Resolution: 72 px/in

  5. Adjustment layer -> "Gradient..." -> Gradient: Black, White Style: Radial Angle: 90 Scale: 436% Check: Reverse & Align with layer

  6. Go back to traced image -> select move mouse -> select image drag to Gradient layer

  7. (Ctrl+T) -> arange image to fit (hold down Shift) -> done press "Enter"

  8. Pen Tool -> Trace around head (top of the head can be traced outside of head) -> (Ctrl+Enter) -> (Ctrl+J)

  9. (Ctrl+T) -> drag out to make head bigger (while holding down Shift) -> press Enter

  10. Select move mouse -> move head to the place

  11. (Ctrl+ selct layer 1) -> Right Click -> "Merge Layers"

  12. Filter -> Blur -> "Surface Blur..." (change to your desire)

  13. Filter -> "Filter Gallery..." -> Artistic: Poster Edges

  14. Image -> Adjustments -> "Color Balance..." (change to your desire)

 

If Needed:

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

Clipping Mask: FIlling word with image.

  1. File -> "New..." -> Change Name-> Background Contents: White 

  2. Text Tool (type any word) Color of text: White

  3. File -> "Place..." (Select image of your choice)

  4. (Ctrl+T) arrage image to fit the canvys

  5. Right Click layer of image -> "Create Clipping Mask"

  6. (Ctrl+T) arrange image to your desire -> press "Enter" when finished

  7. Save work as JPEG & Photoshop

 

Add Image and Word to Clipping Mask:

  1. File -> "Open..." (Open Clipping Mask image)

  2. File -> "Place..." (Place original image without word)

  3. Crop image to fit under "Live"

  4. Add Text (same font & color:White)

  5. Save work as JPEG & Photoshop

 

If Needed:

  1. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

Live Life

My clipping mask is the word "Live" and I wanted to take a few steps more to show more of the image. Thanks for the help of Ella and Ms.Ashley, I was able to create a master piece. :)

Low Poly Portrait: Turn an image into a polygonal image

  1. Duplicate Background layer (Ctrl+J)

  2. Rename (to your desire) -> "Ok"

  3. Zoom In (Ctrl+Z)  to any spot you want to start with 

  4. Select "Polygon Lasso Tool"

  5. Select triangle 

  6. Filter -> Blur -> Average

  7. Repeat steps 5&6

  8. Apply last filter (Ctrl+F)

Furthermore

  1. Outline the Deer head with "Lasso Tool" -> Enter

  2. (Ctrl+C) 

  3. File -> New -> Rename -> Background Contents: White

  4. Recolor the background 

  5. (Ctrl+V) 

  6. Save work as JPEG & Photoshop

 

If Needed:

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

Editing Photos

  1. File-> "Open..." (select image needed to be edited)

  2. Adjustments -> (edit as you choose)

Editing certain part of picture:

  1. Select cetain Adjustment -> Rectangular Marquee Tool  -> (edit as you choose) 

  2. Eraser Tool -> (erase any edited part that is not needed, to make it blend in with the background) 

Options:

Brightness/ Contrast: Color balance and level of brightness

Levels: adjust color balance

Curves: control points for highlights, midtones, and shadow adjustments

Exposure: adjust tonality

Vibrance: adjust color saturation

Hue/Saturation: increase or decrease the temperature

Photo Filter: adjust photo using already made filters

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

There was a moment in my life where flowers inspired me to take photos. This was at my house with the beautiful sunset in the back.

Double Exposure Effect: Blend 2 seperate photos together to create surreal image.

  1. File-> "Open..."

  2. Select Image for the Background (the one you want as outline)

  3. Channels -> select one -> drag it to "New Icon"

  4. Image -> Adjustment -> "Levels..." -> mvoe midtone and shadow towards the right as much as you can (not expanding black outline) -> click "Ok"

  5. Brush Tool -> Fill in  Hardness: 100%

  6. click RGB -> (Ctrl+Click) copy (new icon)

  7. Select -> Inverse

  8. Layers panel -> (Ctrl+C) -> (Ctrl+V) -> Fill Background with White

  9. File -> "Place..." -> select image (the one you want for the fill)

  10. (Ctrl+Click) first image -> add layer mask -> unlink mask with layer

  11. Click Landscape icon -> (Ctrl+T) -> Move as to your desire -> press "Enter"

  12. Select 1st layer -> (Ctrl+J) -> Move to top of layer stack

  13. Image -> Adjustment -> Desaturate

  14. Blending Mode: Multiply -> Add Layer Mask -> Brush Tool: Soft Black Fill (erase everything except facial features) 

  15. Deselect mask -> Eye Droplet Tool -> select color from image -> use to fill background color

 

If Needed:

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)

Blossoming Mind

Text Splash Effect: Enhance word description with picture & a little fun. 

  1. File -> "New..." -> White Width: 1920px Height: 1080 px

  2. Gradient -> "Gradient..." -> Color: White to Black Style: Radial Angel: 90 Scale: 920% Select: Align with layer -> click "Ok"

  3. Text Tool -> move to center

  4. File -> "Place..." (place wallpaper of your choice)

  5. (Ctrl+T) -> Rearrange to fit layer -> click "Apply"

  6. Right Click on wallpaper layer -> select "Create Clipping Mask" -> move as desire

  7. Brush Tool -> Choose as your desire

  8. Save work as JPEG & Photoshop

 

If Needed:

  1. Zoom in (Ctrl+Z)

  2. Redo (Ctrl+Alt+Z)
